Summary:
This position is with the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas.
The Juvenile Probation Secretary provides support in the day-to-day functions of the department and assistance to their assigned probation officers.
Considerable initiative and independent judgment are required.
The nature of the tasks to be performed is of a highly confidential nature and requires a person of maturity and sound judgment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND
Responsibilities:
Prepare, proofread, and process various court documents, forms, and correspondence.
Organize and schedule cases for court, including sending notices, subpoenas, obtaining school records, psychological and/or medical records and distributing notices to court personnel.
Stay up to date on emails, respond, and take appropriate actions in a timely manner.
Work closely with Judicial Staff, Clerk of Courts, District Attorney, Public Defenders, and service providers in matters related to juveniles.
Keep juveniles' files up to date.
Enter data into various case management systems and computer programs.
Answer telephones and act as a liaison to probation officers regarding new developments in their caseload.
Perform receptionist and daily call-in duties.
Assists with court check in on a rotating basis.
Work closely with support staff personnel.
Open, sort and distribute incoming correspondence.
Deliver documents and files to Justice Center when required.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

High school graduate or equivalent.
A good working knowledge of the legal system's terminology and functions is very beneficial in this job function.
Excellent word processing skills with a minimum keyboarding speed of 45 wpm with a high degree of accuracy.
Ability to communicate clearly in writing, by telephone, and in person.
High proficiency in the English language with strong grammar skills.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, ability to work well with a variety of people, and tolerant of situations if subjected to clients and visitors who may become aggressive or angry.
Must be able to work a flexible work schedule during normal office hours to adapt to unplanned and emergency situations.
Ability to self-start, organize and complete work without constant supervision and work well on team or unit projects.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required.
Word, Access and Adobe are integral parts of this job.
Applicant will be trained on case management software.
Must be able to quickly learn software applications.
Performs related work as necessary and other tasks as assigned.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
