Summary:
Responsible for the editing, maintenance and updating of the county assessment database following state statutes regarding property assessment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND
Responsibilities:
Sound working knowledge of the assessment software used in processing assessment changes to the Board of Assessment database.
Updates and makes changes to property records in the Board of Assessment database.
Working knowledge of annual/interim appeal process and sign-in procedure for appeal hearings.
Assists with data entry and file preparation for annual/interim appeal hearings & decisions.
Processes records for the Homestead Exclusion Program.
Working knowledge of processes for parcels receiving exemptions.
Maintains various files, including scanning.
Works with and dispenses data to taxing authorities.
Working knowledge of Bucks County tax maps.
Assists in the compilation of information, reports and programs.
Assists in the solution of problems.
Composes letters, reports, etc.
, as directed.
Screens and refers phone calls and visitors to proper people giving or searching for answers to routine questions.
Meets and deals effectively with public and staff.
May be required to perform additional work that follows prescribed or well-established procedures that can be learned within a reasonable time by training on the job.
More detailed instructions as to the nature of their duties will be given to employees at the beginning of work.
Operates office equipment such as a typewriter, copier, calculator, cash drawer, scanner and computer.
