Summary:
Performs sorting, ironing and folding of linen, and clothing.
Makes simple sewing repairs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND
Responsibilities:
Work is performed under the general direction of the assigned laundry lead person.
When requested, sorts incoming soiled laundry.
Unloads laundry from dryers.
Feeds linens into and folds from flat ironer.
Folds clean linen and clothing.
Labels residents' clothing and delivers to rooms.
Operates sewing machine to make minor repairs.
Distributes clean personal laundry.
Performs daily cleaning according to posted cleaning schedule.
May be required to perform additional work that follows prescribed or well-established procedures that can be learned within a reasonable time by training on the job.
More detailed instructions as to the nature of their duties will be given to employees at the beginning of work.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
